Beginning in 1983 with the creation of the Digital Percussion Plate, Nord released its first synthesizer in 1995 – the Nord Lead. Now, Nord builds a full line of professional stage pianos perfect for the musician who needs an authentic piano feel as well as the versatility of on-board synths, effects, and organ. Nord has come a long way from the little basement workshop they started out in back in 1983, but all of their instruments are still built by hand in Stockholm, Sweden to ensure the best quality and effectiveness to meet the needs of today’s musicians.

Nord keyboards are assembled by hand by a very dedicated and skillful crew. The Nord factory is located in the heart of Stockholm with only a staircase between development and the production area. There are many smiles and happy faces at the factory in a relaxed but focused atmosphere. Each Nord instrument is also carefully quality tested before leaving the factory.
